Thinking about starting your own business, or in the beginning stages of doing so? Have you considered all the tax and legal information you need to know to move forward? Do you have any fears of failure when it comes to starting your own business?
 
This session is for you!
 
The Waukesha County Center for Growth presents a unique opportunity for entrepreneurs and new business owners to learn both legal entity and tax business basics AND necessary techniques to overcome the fears associated with starting and running your own business.   
 
Hear from legal and accounting professionals about the pros and cons of different legal structures, recordkeeping requirements, the tax implications of hiring an independent contractor vs. employee, important payroll matters and more. Knowledgeable tax specialists from the Wisconsin Department of Revenue will discuss federal and state taxes, including payroll, unemployment compensation and sales taxes. We will also have a business leadership coach on hand to help attendees address the Wall of Fear that can inhibit one’s success.
 
At the Wisconsin New Business Seminar, you will:
  • Learn about important tax and legal considerations when choosing an appropriate business entity.
  • Understand key tax reporting requirements.
  • Develop a basic understanding of Wisconsin’s tax laws.
  • Learn techniques for addressing your business ownership fears.
  • Gain access to state resources dedicated to reducing the regulatory burden on small business.
  • Network with key government representatives and other new business owners in the community.
