5 ‘BigShot’ Healthcare Providers in Waukesha County Recognized for Efforts to Vaccinate Children

(WAUKESHA, WI)  The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) and the Waukesha County Public Health Department are pleased to announce that five healthcare facilities in Waukesha County have just been named a “BigShot” for their strong immunization practices to have a vaccine coverage level of 90% or more for their young patients, based on immunization data collected by DHS for two-year-olds.
 
BIGSHOT WINNERS IN WAUKESHA COUNTY:
Aurora Health Center – New Berlin, New Berlin
Aurora Health Care – Waukesha Family Practice & Pediatrics, Waukesha
Forest View Pediatrics – Children’s Medical Group, New Berlin
Aurora Health Center – Hartland Children’s Health, Hartland
Aurora Children’s Health – Summit, Summit
 
“Childhood vaccinations are critical to protect our children and everyone around them from diseases like measles, mumps, rubella, and pertussis among others,” said Benjamen Jones, Waukesha County Public Health Officer and Public Health Division Manager. “We’re pleased to recognize these organizations for their diligence in helping keep our children healthy.”

The public announcement of the 2018 BigShots Awardees coincides with National Infant Immunization Week (NIIW), April 21-28, 2018. NIIW is an annual observance to highlight the importance of protecting infants from vaccine-preventable diseases and to celebrate the achievements of immunization programs in promoting healthy communities throughout the United States.
