Building holiday cheer: Habitat for Humanity kicks off the holiday season of giving

#GivingTuesday and Gingerbread Build raise funds for affordable housing

WHO: Habitat for Humanity of Waukesha County and Waukesha County Habitat ReStore

WHAT: Kick off of Habitat Waukesha’s 4th Annual Gingerbread Build, sponsored by Advia Credit Union and Shorewest Realtors

WHEN: Tue, Nov 27 from 10am 6pm

Gingerbread Build viewing and voting is open to the public from 10am-6pm daily starting Tue Nov 27 until Sat, Dec 1 at 4:00pm

WHERE: Habitat ReStore, 2120 E Moreland Blvd, Waukesha, WI 53186

Plenty of parking is available in the parking lot

WHY: Gingerbread Build kicks off Habitat Waukesha’s end-of-year giving campaign. Members of the public are invited to make a donation to vote for their favorite gingerbread house(s) in the annual competition. All proceeds from #GivingTuesday donations and Gingerbread Build help provide affordable workforce housing for families in Waukesha County.

VISUALS: Dozens of unique locally designed gingerbread houses created by student groups and local businesses, including professional and student bakers

INTERVIEWS: Habitat Waukesha Executive Director Diane McGeen will be available to talk about the event and organization, and to answer questions. Event sponsors and gingerbread house creators may also be available for interviews. Early morning interviews can be arranged on Tue, Nov 27 with advance notice.
