Waukesha animal resource center hosts ribbon cutting/open house, Kitten Shower
 
WAUKESHA ­­— May 30, 2017 — HAWS, the Humane Animal Welfare Society of Waukesha County, greets summer with a special open house celebration TOMORROW at the shelter.
 
HAWS’ recently completed facility expansion officially opens THIS Wednesday, May 31st from 3:00 – 6:30pm with a Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. Everyone is invited! Behind-the-scenes shelter tours will allow visitors to view the updated and expanded service areas, including the new SNIP Spay-Neuter Initiative Program clinic, Behavior Department workroom, and livestock and safe keep housing. Enjoy light refreshments and learn how these areas will enable HAWS to continue building a no-kill community. HAWS’ shelter is located at 701 Northview Road, Waukesha.
 
Celebrate “kitten season” at HAWS’ Kitten Shower on Saturday, June 24th from 9:00am – 3:00pm. Learn all about HAWS’ Kitty College and the importance of kitten socialization. Add a new family member with adoption specials on kittens…and adult cats, too! Enter to win great raffle prizes: donate an item from HAWS’ Wish List and receive a complimentary raffle ticket. This is a FREE, all-ages event.
 
HAWS’ Mobile Adoption Center is all over the map in June, including stops at Jammin’ on Janesville (6/2), “Wine-ke-Sha” (6/3), Franklin Safety Day (6/3), West Allis al la Carte (6/4), and Brookfield Village Kids’ Fest (6/17). Details at the Mobile Adoption Center page at hawspets.org.
 
PET-cetera:  This month HAWS also offers pet-icures (cats - 6/10 & 27; small animals - 6/14 & 17), a full slate of great training classes and the popular Sunday Puppy Parties!
