Since 2000 the Milwaukee community and surrounding areas have been collecting and recycling pop tabs, generating over $360,000 for RMHC and its guest families. Revenue from recycling pop tabs helps RMHC’s mission to keep families together and promote the health and well-being of children.
“Collecting pop tabs is one of the easiest ways to get involved with the Ronald McDoanld House, and it’s truly amazing what the power of a pop tab can do” Ann Petrie, RMHC President/CEO said. “We are honored to partner with First Federal Bank as one of our official collection sites. It’s an exciting time for both RMHC and First Federal Bank to deepen our relationship. First Federal Bank employees have made meals and snacks for our families through our Family Meal Program, and have attended a number of our events. Serving as one of our pop tab collection sites is the perfect next step in our partnership.”
First Federal Bank presented RMHC with the collection site proposal because of their passion for the RMHC guest families and organization’s mission.
“It is enjoyable to do little acts such as collecting pop tabs,” Joe Korban, First Federal Bank Consumer Bank Manager, said. “Every smile starts out little and it feels good to do little things as part of helping every smile grow.”
First Federal Bank customers and members of the community can drop off their pop tabs in the marked RMHC collection bins at all First Federal Bank locations year round. Their four offices include:
