Health network includes three hospitals, more than 25 health centers

Milwaukee, Wis. (May 2, 2017) – Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin health network has been recognized among the top 20 percent of medium size health systems in the nation by Truven Health Analytics, an independent firm that evaluates hospitals and health systems. The Froedtert & MCW health network is one of just four Wisconsin health systems to make the list.

The Froedtert & MCW health network operates Community Memorial Hospital in Menomonee Falls, Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa, and St. Joseph’s Hospital in West Bend, as well as health centers in Brookfield, Hartford, New Berlin, Waukesha and more than 20 other locations. According to Truven, health systems on the list generally outperform their peers in a variety of important measures, including higher survival rates, fewer errors, and lower costs.

Being recognized as a top performer by this highly credible group affirms the value our health care network brings to our patients and to our community,” said Cathy Jacobson, president and chief executive officer of Froedtert Health.

The Truven study analyzed data from 337 health systems and their 2,415 associated hospitals to identify those that achieve superior performance based on a composite score of nine measures of care quality, patient perception of care, cost per episode of illness and operational efficiency.

Truven divided the top systems into three comparison groups based on total operating expenses of the member hospitals in 2015. The Froedtert & MCW health network is in the medium size health system category, which includes health systems with total annual operating expenses in the $750 million-$1.5 billion range.
