Good Harvest Donates over $5,000 to the Waukesha County Food Pantry

January 22, 2018
Waukesha, WI (January 2018) – Good Harvest Market is pleased to announce their largest donation to date to the FOOD Pantry of Waukesha County thanks to the generosity of loyal customers and vendors.

Every year Good Harvest hosts a donation event for the entire month of December to collect money towards organic produce and groceries for the county food pantry.  Customers were able to donate $20 toward this initiative.  For every $20 donation received, Good Harvest matched that amount.  “By the end of the month we collected just over $2,000 from our customers allowing us to match that amount and donate $4,000 worth of organic groceries to the FOOD Pantry.  We are grateful for the generosity of our customers so that we may help our community stay healthy and strong”, said Jody Nolan, Co-owner of Good Harvest Market.

In addition to the $4,000 in food donations, the FOOD Pantry received an additional $1,242 in monetary donations collected over the month of December for a total donation of $5,242.  Good Harvest hosted a “Round Up” week at the beginning of the month where customers could round-up their grocery bill to the nearest dollar to benefit the food pantry.  Customers also donated to the café tip jar for the month, which Good Harvest also matches.  “The FOOD Pantry is open 6 days per week, all year round.  After the holidays, donations diminish greatly. This generous donation of healthy food and monetary donations will go a long way toward helping thousands of people this winter”, said Karen Tredwell, Executive Director of the FOOD Pantry.
