BROOKFIELD BASED DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT AND IMAGING COMPANY
EXPANDS BEYOND METRO MILWAUKEE AREA
BROOKFIELD, WI – James Imaging Systems, a Brookfield-based provider of document imaging systems and related support services, today announced that it has acquired the Wisconsin-based operations of Ross Imaging LLC of Illinois.
Under the agreement, James Imaging Systems will become the owner and operator of the Ross Imaging offices in Sheboygan and Appleton and begin serving customers in the Fox River Valley area in Outagamie, Brown and Door counties as well as in Manitowoc and Sheboygan counties and the surrounding areas.
The Sheboygan and Appleton branches will continue to operate as Ross Imaging and be wholly-owned divisions of James Imaging Systems.
“Ross Imaging has built a strong presence in the Sheboygan and Appleton areas, and this acquisition puts us in a positive position to grow our business beyond our base in the metropolitan Milwaukee area,” said Tom Tegeder, President of James Imaging Systems. “Our success in serving small, medium and large companies with a total document management solution is a strong business model that will provide measurable benefits to a new group of customers, and we are excited about the opportunities this acquisition presents.”
Tegeder said that he expects all of the nearly 30 Ross Imaging Wisconsin employees to be offered opportunities to stay with the new ownership and noted that he plans to build off the success Ross already has achieved in the area.
“I chose James Imaging Systems because it was important that our customers be assisted by a Wisconsin family-owned business that is dedicated to the local community,” said Rich Cucco, Managing Partner and Founder at Imagetec, the previous owner of Ross Imaging. ”I am confident that James Imaging Systems’ commitment to outstanding customer service will help Ross Imaging customers be more productive and profitable and help advance the careers of our employees.”
“Ross Imaging has served Wisconsin customers since 1961, and the company and its employees are highly regarded in the marketplace for their strong customer service, technical expertise and focus on client satisfaction” Tegeder added. “It’s a good match with the James Imaging Systems culture and mission, and we are excited about the opportunity to grow our business in Sheboygan, Appleton and the entire Fox River Valley area.”
James Imaging Systems started as a basic copier sales and repair business operating out of a garage and a station wagon in 1977. It has grown into one of metro Milwaukee’s premier document management and imaging services companies and has expanded its business to more than 75 employees prior to the Ross acquisition.  The Ross acquisition is the third recent expansion for James Imaging Systems and comes after it bought the former Waukesha-based Laser Tech Systems in 2013 and its purchase earlier this year of Acme Office Equipment in Union Grove.
James Imaging Systems provides its customers with managed print services and document software and document management solutions. Its customers include a broad range of companies in various industries, including utilities, hospitals, manufacturing and schools, as well as law firms, non-profit groups, service companies, government agencies and commercial printing and graphics professionals.  Ross Imaging has focused on companies in the fields of financial services, insurance, health care, social services and manufacturing, among others.
“Gone are the days when a copier just made copies.  Today’s digital revolution means that the copying machine is often both the on ramp and off ramp to the information highway, and businesses are looking for capable partners who provide a total solution to their document management needs. Our expansion into Sheboygan, Appleton and the Fox River Valley opens the door to new partnerships, and we look forward to integrating the Ross employees into the James Imaging group to build a more dynamic, customer focused team,” Tegeder said.
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
