Lemberg Provides a One-of-a-Kind Sign Solution for Milwaukee Downtown
A unique sign upgrade for The Motor mobile kiosk

Brookfield, WI (July 27, 2018) – Lemberg provides a one-of-a-kind sign solution for Milwaukee Downtown to market their efforts in supporting the interests of the downtown Milwaukee business community.

Milwaukee Downtown promotes local initiatives that are inspiring and exciting to the downtown community and city-lovers. These promotional happenings are ever-changing, just like their new sign.

The sign’s unique size, lighter weight and style makes it new to Lemberg and the state of Wisconsin. Prior to the installation of the transparent electronic message center (EMC), Milwaukee Downtown had a simple pop-up camper with standard print signage. The organization now promotes from a mobile kiosk, The Motor, with a custom-framed, transparent EMC. The new sign has dimension and depth, which creates a floating effect that complements the modern, tiny house-style of the mobile kiosk.

"It has been a true pleasure working with Lemberg Electric. They bring innovative, forward-thinking solutions to the table, which have helped acquaint downtown visitors with our new MOTOR info trailer, says Beth Weirick, CEO of Milwaukee Downtown. “Plus, their team is highly responsive to customer needs.”

Lemberg worked with One World LED USA to design and manufacture the unique sign solution for Milwaukee Downtown. Sized at six feet wide by two feet high, the sign is constructed of LED lights on thin strips mounted to channels on a lightweight open grid. This allows natural light to pass through the sign on either side -- unique in comparison to standard EMC signs, which are made with 12”x12” LED modules housed in a metal cabinet. This transparent EMC weighs just 15 pounds where a standard cabinet of this size might weigh about 150 pounds. Aside from being unique in terms of its design, the new sign also permits Milwaukee Downtown to display a variety of detailed text, video, animation, and imagery as the kiosk changes locations.

“The most important feature of the sign is that it gives Milwaukee Downtown the option to instantaneously change their digital image wherever they are. This saves them time in comparison to altering a print image every time they change their verbiage,” says Sign Division Project Manager Zach Wenger. “Milwaukee Downtown is unique to the city. They can now say the same about their business sign.”
