Miller Baking Expands Pretzilla® Production

Company adds second production facility for its popular pretzel bread brand
 
MILWAUKEE, WI – January 4, 2018 – Miller Baking Company is adding a second production facility that will eventually create 30 jobs in Milwaukee to meet demand for its popular line of Pretzilla^Ò Pretzel Bread. Recognizable for its light blue and brown striped packaging, the Pretzilla^Ò line of products includes Burger Buns, Sausage Buns, Mini Buns, and Bites sold in retailers and restaurants throughout the country.
 
“As part of the Milwaukee community for nearly 100 years, we’re excited and honored to continue the resurgence of the downtown area,” notes owner Brian Miller. The second facility is located just two blocks from the new Milwaukee Bucks arena and will be completely remodeled to include new equipment. Like the existing Pretzilla^Ò facility, it will be completely free of peanuts and tree nuts.
 
The space was previously used for the local fresh bakery operation. That part of the business was sold late last year, ending the production of non-pretzel products under the Miller Baking name. “I have tremendous gratitude for the generations of customers who have enjoyed Miller Baking products, like rye bread, challah, and donuts,” Miller says. “Their support helped make Pretzilla^Ò possible.”
 
The Pretzilla^Ò expansion follows two new products introduced last year: the Pretzilla^Ò Bites Tub—a shareable pack of 36 bites that’s great for entertaining—and the Pretzilla^Ò Bites with Cheese Dip—a convenient, snack-size pack of 6 bites and premium cheese dip.
 
“We’re proud that Pretzilla^Ò is made in Milwaukee,” says Miller. “By increasing production, we look forward to bringing a piece of the city to even more homes around the country.”
 
Miller Baking Company has selected MSI General Corporation to design and construct a bakery, production, warehouse and office remodel at their location on 5^th Street in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  This project is scheduled to be complete in March 2018.
