APICS Milwaukee Chapter named Sydney Loomans the student of the year at their Awards and Recognition Night event on April 24, 2019 for Sydney’s outstanding support of the chapter and her service as the UW-Whitewater APICS Student Chapter President. Sydney is currently an undergraduate student studying Supply Chain Management and Finance at UW-Whitewater.
Under Sydney’s leadership this past school year, the APICS student chapter offered a different company tour every month, including Sub-Zero Group, Snap-On, Inc., and J.W. Speaker. They brought in guest speakers from Wacker Neuson, C.H. Robinson, Provisur Technologies, Target Distribution Center, and the APICS Milwaukee parent chapter to talk about their career, education, and APICS certifications. They held Excel workshops, had members assisting Supply Chain faculty with research and participated in a national supply chain case competition.
Before she graduates in the fall, she will be interning at the Target distribution center as an Operations Intern. Sydney loves to travel and is looking forward to visiting several places this summer.
At the APICS Milwaukee Chapter, the premier professional association for supply chain management, everything we do centers on inspiring and growing Supply Chain Professionals at all stages in their careers. We are proud to partner with two APICS student chapters at the UW-Milwaukee and UW-Whitewater. Students receive free membership to APICS providing opportunities to learn and network with local Supply Chain experts.
