SURG RESTAURANT GROUP, RYAN BRAUN TO END BUSINESS RELATIONSHIP

September 06, 2013
SURG Restaurant Group today announced that it has decided to end its business relationship with Milwaukee Brewer Ryan Braun.

SURG said it will keep Ryan Braun's Graffito open until the end of 2013 to honor its pre-existing obligations to its customers and employees, but will close its doors after the holiday season. Ryan Braun's name will be removed from the restaurant. SURG also said it will change the name of the 8-Twelve MVP Bar & Grill in Brookfield and its planned Bayshore Town Center restaurant, which also had been slated to be another 8-Twelve location.

We've appreciated the relationship we had with Ryan over the last several years, and the entire SURG family wishes him success in the future, said Michael Polaski, CEO and Co-Owner of SURG Restaurant Group. Braun said he supported SURG's decision and passed along his best of luck to the SURG Restaurant Group as it continues to grow.

Polaski added that Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers will continue his relationship with the restaurant group, with a focus on community relations and charitable activities.
Omar Shaikh, SURG President and Co-Owner, praised restaurant customers and employees who have supported the company.

Our employees and customers have been nothing short of fantastic, Shaikh said. They understand that our restaurants are about quality food, customer service and a great experience. We are grateful and proud to be an active part of this wonderful community, and we look forward to the future with optimism, particularly with the opportunity to introduce and rebrand two, new exciting restaurant experiences.

Shaikh added that while plans are still evolving, both of the restaurants will uniquely focus on locally sourced products, including beef and pork from Polaski's Hidden Creek Farms in New London, a rural community located about two hours north of Milwaukee.
