UW-Extension Offers ''Taking care of you'' Curriculum training

Waukesha County UW-Extension is looking for people interested in leading the Taking Care of You curriculum in their organizations and communities. A training session for individuals interested in becoming facilitators for the program will take place on Tuesday, January 29 from 8:30 am until 3:00 pm in the Waukesha County Courthouse Complex. Taking Care of You is a multi-session program offering practical strategies and experiences
to help deal with the stress. Managing life’s challenges in a healthy way allows individuals improve self-care and overall health. Each week explores topics through small group discussion, self-reflections and activities.

 
Program activities aim to increase mindfulness, positive emotions, optimism, resiliency to stress, coping skills, and self-care of one’s mind, body, and spirit. Participants will learn strategies to:
  • Improve all aspects of health—body, mind, and spirit
  • Increase the mind-body connection and ability to use this awareness to improve health
  • Respond with thought verses reaction to stressors
  • Discover opportunities in life’s challenges
  • Develop healthier habits
  • Find ways to become a happier person
  • Simplify life
  • Live in the moment
 
This training would benefit educators, supervisors, human services staff, wellness professionals, leaders, community members interested in wellness, and many others.
