WAUKESHA COUNTY HOUSEHOLD AND AGRICULTURAL HAZARDOUS WASTE SPECIAL COLLECTION SEPTEMBER 8

(WAUKESHA, WI) The City of Oconomowoc will hold its special one-day collection of household and agricultural hazardous waste open to any Waukesha County resident on Saturday, September 8 from 8:00 a.m. to noon. The collection will take place at the Oconomowoc Public Works building located at 630 South Worthington Street.

Accepted household hazardous waste from Waukesha County residents includes old, unusable chemicals, pesticides, wood preservatives, solvents, oil-based paints, and mercury-containing products. Latex paint, non-hazardous cleaning materials, antifreeze, motor oil, and filters will not be accepted. Check with your municipal drop-off site for antifreeze, motor oil, and oil filter recycling. Residents are required to have their ID scanned to verify proof of residency.

Accepted agricultural hazardous waste from active and inactive farms, greenhouses, and nurseries in Waukesha County includes old pesticides, herbicides, wood preservatives, and other hazardous chemicals. All agricultural hazardous waste requires pre-registration with Waukesha County since quantity of free disposal is dependent on the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection grant funding. The Business and Agricultural Chemical Inventory Form is available for registration at www.waukeshacounty.gov/hazardouswaste.
