Wisconsin Manufacturing Extension Partnership’s Baumann Receives International Trade Award

June 11, 2018

Madison, Wis. – Roxanne Baumann, Director of Global Engagement for the Wisconsin Manufacturing Extension Partnership, has received the Advancing International Trade Award for Wisconsin from the National Association of Small Business International Trade Educators (NASBITE) International.

The award recognizes an individual’s or program’s dedication to international trade in their state and their outstanding achievement in supporting the growth of international trade.

“If I can give that confidence to others to expand exports, grow the Wisconsin economy and grow family supporting jobs, then I’m humbled to be making a difference,” Baumann said.

NASBITE announced the award at the association’s annual conference in Baltimore in March. Baumann received the honor this month at the Wisconsin International Trade Conference, held in Milwaukee and presented by the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce’s World Trade Association.

“It’s wonderful to see Roxanne getting recognized for her hard work, dedication and the personal passion she exhibits in leading Wisconsin manufacturers on an all-important exporting journey,” Wisconsin Manufacturing Extension Partnership Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director Tim Wiora said.

A career-long international export executive, Baumann previously received the Harry C. Brockel Award from the Milwaukee World Trade Association for her efforts to promote international trade in Wisconsin. In 2010, she launched Wisconsin’s ExporTech program, a highly successful export expansion strategy. Prior to her work with the WMEP, Baumann managed the International Parts and Accessories and Licensed Products division of Milwaukee-based Harley-Davidson Motor Company.

Baumann was nominated for the award by NASBITE board members Amy Coon Ph.D., Associate Dean of the College of Business and Management at Cardinal Stritch University, and Aleda Bourassa, president of ExportAble LLC.
