Wisconsin Philharmonic to Perform Free Community Concert

This entertaining program from classic American musicals to patriotic favorites including:  Rodgers and Bennet’s, “Oklahoma Suite”, “South Pacific Suite” and “The King and I”, selections from “The Sound of Music” and “Victory at Sea”.  In honor of Wisconsin being the first State to ratify the 19th amendment, we will have a special performance of “The Battle Hymn of The Republic” with lyrics by Julia Ward Howe.  To celebrate the coming 50th anniversary of Apollo 13 in July we will perform the Medley from Apollo 13 (Horner, arr. Moss) and in honor of our Armed Forces we will feature the “Armed Forces Salute” (Arr. Lowden) and Sousa’s magnificent “Stars and Stripes Forever”.
