WWDA Names Paul Decker as New Chair

August 24, 2017
Pewaukee, WIS. – Paul Decker, Waukesha County Board Chair, founder of Renegade Thinking Group, and co-founder of The Maverick Innovation Lab, has been named the new Chair of the Wisconsin Workforce Development Association (WWDA) effective August 15, 2017. WWDA is the organization that promotes, enhances, and serves the interests of local workforce investment agencies and system partners in Wisconsin. WWDA represents the eleven Workforce Development Areas who administer the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) programs, as well as other federal, State and local workforce development initiatives across Wisconsin. As the WWDA Chair, Decker will serve for a 1 year term ending on June 30, 2018.

“I look forward to serving the association and the local workforce development boards in Wisconsin. I welcome the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead as we move the organization forward. With the low-unemployment labor market and growing business demands, there has never been a more critical time to strengthen the association and advance the workforce development efforts statewide to benefit all businesses and job seekers,” said Paul Decker.

As the new Chair of the WWDA, Decker will lead the association through its expanded efforts to elevate the awareness and utilization of workforce development boards in Wisconsin. Similar to the local workforce development boards, the membership of the WWDA consists of private sector businesses and local elected officials. Paul’s extensive experience in the private sector, county government, and the Wisconsin Counties Association will be a huge advantage for the association.

In addition to the WWDA, Decker also serves on the Joint Executive Committee of the Waukesha-Ozaukee-Washington Workforce Development Board, one of the eleven workforce development boards in Wisconsin. “Chairman Decker has been a great asset and advocate for our local workforce development board. He has a strong passion for workforce development, helping job seekers and businesses, and creating strong communities,” said Laura Catherman, President of the Waukesha-Ozaukee-Washington Workforce Development Board.

WWDA has a network of over 50 American Job Centers across the state serving more than one million customers each year. For more information, visit www.wwda.org
